I love traveling and discovering new experiences, whether that means wandering through a new city, trying foods I’ve never had, meeting new people, or immersing myself in different cultures. I’m naturally curious, and I think that curiosity plays a big role in how I approach design.

Fashion has also been a longtime passion of mine. I love studying trends, designers, color palettes, fabrics, and the way an outfit can completely change how someone feels. There’s something about putting different pieces together and creating a visual story that I find endlessly inspiring.

I remember my mother telling me that I started picking my own outfits out at the age of two. Clothes to me are a way to tell a story without having to use words. People can get a sense of who you are just by how you styled an outfit.

The idea of individual expression is what has always drawn me to fashion. The way it is super subjective and not everybody likes the same things really makes me fall in love with it daily. Whether I like what somebody is wearing or not I always have respect for how peoples creativity worked to make an outfit.

Over the past few years, I’ve also fallen in love with film photography. I love the nostalgia and imperfections that come with taking a film photo. There’s something special about telling an entire story with just one click.

My favorite kind of film is Kodak ColorPlus 200 and I usually just use my Olympus Stylus 120 film camera and take snapshots of everyday life. One of my favorite things about using film is when you get the photos back and get to relive them over again. I ofter forget what I took and getting to see them developed is a highlight.

The simplicity of using a film camera over your phone is what really strikes me. You don’t get to see what the photo looked like and re-do it over and over. You take the picture and have to wait and see how it turns out. It takes away the shield of being able to “curate” your life and lets you just live it for how it actually it.

And then there’s painting—my favorite way to completely unplug and let my creativity take over. It’s a space where there are no pixels, grids, or design systems—just color, texture, and imagination.

My favorite kind of art to do is textured paintings on a canvas. I use plaster for the textured look and feel. I also love studying art. Going to museums and learning about my favorite artists and the process they took to come up with their famous pieces has always been fascinating to me.

For me, creativity isn’t something I turn on when I’m working. It’s simply how my brain works. It keeps me curious, inspired, and always looking for the next idea worth bringing to life.
